40 organisations certified according to the Healthy Workplace model


The Healthy Company certificate establishes the requirements of a management system for organisations committed to the existing international principles and recommendations on healthy companies that want to promote and protect, in an ongoing fashion, the health, safety and well-being of workers and the sustainability of the work environment.

Among other advantages, the Healthy Company model allows makes it possible to improve the health, well-being and safety of employees in a sustainable manner; reduce accident rates and illnesses in a continued manner, facilitate legal compliance or improve the company's image.

Recently AENOR has awarded the certificate to the University Hospital Complex of Granada. The management system implemented by the company, as accredited by AENOR, improves the health and well-being of the employees, encourages motivation, increases the company's productivity, competitiveness and sustainability and reduces health care costs.

To obtain the certification, companies must comply with requirements of the Model and identify the risk factors that can influence the work atmosphere, with the aim of controlling, reducing and eliminating them, taking into account the particularities of each organisation. These factors have been divided into four areas: physical environment, psychosocial atmosphere, health resources and community participation shown by the company.

Since AENOR granted the first Healthy Company certificates in 2013, 40 organisations have already obtained this recognition.
