The Extremadura Funding Committee, which belongs to the Department of the Environment, Agriculture and Agricultural Policies and Territory of the Regional Government of Extremadura, has received the UNE-ISO/IEC 27001:2014 standard certificate from AENOR for its Information Security Management System.

AENOR's Information Security Management certification helps to promote activities of data protection in organisations, thus improving their image and generating confidence with respect to third parties. Furthermore, the certificate is internationally recognised through IQNet, the world's largest certification network, the Spanish member of which is AENOR.

AENOR's recognition guarantees the highest quality and security of information systems, that support the entire company, and of their IT processes in the event of possible risks.

The certificate accredits the implementation of a set of controls suitable for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the company's information systems, as well as for identifying, preventing, eliminating and effectively reducing risks or threats.

Spain is among the top ten countries in the world in the number of Information Security certificates, according to the latest report from the International Standards Organisation (ISO).
